What software application (not brand specific) would work best for client record storage and follow up?

My company currently does not retain any records on its clients. We are looking to find a software application where we can store those records (personal information, contact, activities, sales, etc.) and then operate from there as well as new opportunities arise. Would a CRM work best here? Most of the CRMs I am seeing are sales orientated. |||Hi,

You could go for a free open source database instead. MySQL 5.0 is a good option, though with databases you would have to create tables and store your requisite data in them, in your case it seems to be like customer details.

Here is the site - http://www.mysql.com/. You can download the installation files of the current stable version from this site's downloads section. They have a couple of case studies and whitepapers which you could look into.

Note - The enterprise edition of MySQL is not free.

Cheers and Good Luck!
